Study Permits

From offer letter to arrival — study applications built on the details visa officers actually assess.

Who this is for: For students headed to a Canadian college or university — and the parents planning with them.

The offer, examined first

A study permit starts with a designated learning institution and a program that makes sense for your background. If the program choice will raise questions, we say so before you pay a deposit.

Financial evidence that adds up

IRCC publishes minimum funds requirements, and officers read bank statements closely. We prepare financial evidence that is complete, sourced and consistent with your family’s real situation.

A study plan in your own voice

The letter of explanation is where applications are won and lost: why this program, why Canada, why now, and how it fits your future. We build it with you — specific, truthful and coherent.

Current rules, checked at filing

Attestation-letter requirements, cap allocations and permit conditions have changed repeatedly in recent years. Your file is prepared against the requirements in force when it is submitted, not last year’s checklist.

Family alongside you

Spouse work permits and children’s visitor or study records have their own current rules. We tell you plainly what your family qualifies for under today’s policy — not what used to be true.

Thinking past graduation

Program length and institution type affect post-graduation work eligibility. We flag those consequences while you still have choices, because the study permit is rarely the end goal.

The journey

How this application actually runs

  1. Assessment & program fit

Your background, goals and budget against realistic institutions and programs — with honest feedback.

  2. Admission & attestation

Offer letter secured, provincial attestation letter obtained where required, funds evidence assembled.

  3. Application

Forms, study plan, financial and ties evidence — reviewed together, then submitted with biometrics booked.

  4. Decision & arrival

Responses to any IRCC requests, then port-of-entry preparation so the landing goes as smoothly as the approval.

Straight answers

Asked before, answered honestly

If your situation doesn't fit these answers, that's exactly what the free assessment is for.

How much money do I need to show?

IRCC publishes the minimum funds required beyond your first year’s tuition, and the figure has risen sharply in recent years. We confirm the current published amount for your family size at the time of filing — treat any fixed number you were quoted elsewhere as out of date until verified.

Can my spouse work while I study?

The rules changed significantly and now depend on the level and field of your program. This is one of the most misunderstood areas of current policy — we check your specific program against the rules in force before promising anything to your family.

My study permit was refused before. Is it over?

No — but reapplying with the same file usually earns the same refusal. We obtain the officer’s notes where useful, address the actual stated reasons, and tell you honestly if the refusal points to a problem that a better application cannot fix.

Will studying in Canada lead to permanent residence?

It can — Canadian education and work experience earn real points — but nothing is automatic, and policy caps have made the road narrower than the agents’ posters suggest. We map the honest pathway from your program to PR before you commit to it.
